Varietal Wine Roditis

The wines of Roditis in their best version are a manifesto of what a delightful white wine is. Elegant, fresh, fine, crisp, with beautiful lemony fruit and mineral notes, they manage to impress with their energy and liveliness. This particular style is associated with mountainous areas, poor soils, old vineyards and limited acre yields. In more fertile and flat soils, Roditis can be extremely productive, which leads to wines with a more neutral style and less concentration and focus on the fruit.
The classic approach calls for vinification in stainless steel tanks, but there are also versions that call for skin contact with the juice for many days to produce skin contact wines (often in amphorae) but also extremely elegant in style and aromas of resins. The best wines will mature for at least five years developing mellow characters and some petroleum hints.
